Galaxy S7 and S7 edge to get Android 7.1.1 Nougat update this January

Samsung has reached out to all of its Beta Program participants to inform that the beta test is ending today. In a ‘Beta Notice’, Samsung said that no more updates will be released from today i.e December 30, 2016. Samsung also said that:

We would do our best to distribute the official version in January as soon as possible.

Well, this means that Samsung is trying to keep its promise which was made when it launched the Galaxy Beta Program. Galaxy Beta Program has been a success for Samsung as a lot of beta testers joined the program in no time. A lot of Beta Testers means a lot of bugs have already been reported and removed. We can expect a much more stable and bug-free Galaxy S7 Nougat update.

Samsung launched Galaxy Beta Program in early November. Since then, they have released 5 updates. The Fifth, obviously, being the last one. The Beta Testers can now report any errors or give feedbacks in the respective forums. And they will not get any direct response from Samsung.

Is the Galaxy S7 Nougat Update really coming in January?

Looking at the Samsung’s message, it feels like Samsung, itself, is not sure whether they will be able to provide the update by January or not. The update might get shifted to February. But at least they are trying to keep up to its promise. And that’s a very good news because I guess a lot of users will not hesitate to wait a little longer for a bug-free and more stable update.
