You can love or hate the notch, but notches are here to stay. At least that’s what the trend of 2018 says. A trend started by the Essential PH-1 and popularized by the iPhone X, a notched display has been the way to go for almost all of the major OEMs except Samsung.
Irrespective of people’s mixed feelings towards notches, OEMs have been launching phones with notches.
It’s not that manufacturers don’t know about the hatred for notches. Several phones (with notch) has a setting to hide or disable the notch be it a OnePlus device or a Huawei device or an Asus phone. There’s even a way to hide the notch of the iPhone X, although it is not there by default.
Among the OEMs with a notched display phone, OnePlus is one of those OEMs which has given the ability to hide the notch on their OnePlus 6 and OnePlus 6T.

How to Hide the Notch on The OnePlus 6/6T
Step 1: Dive into your OnePlus device’s Settings.
Step 2: Tap on Display. On the next menu, tap on Notch Display.
Step 3: Here you’ll see two options – Show the notch area or Hide the notch area. In order to hide the notch, tap on the radio button just before the option Hide the notch area.
Enabling this option will black out all the pixels on both sides of the notch. Thanks to the AMOLED screen on the OnePlus 6 and OnePlus 6T, it looks as if there is no notch at all. Something which you won’t see on an IPS LCD display.

All the status bar icons like the network signal, battery indicator, the clock, notifications will still be there at the left/right side of the (now hidden) notch. It won’t come down to really make it look as if there is no notch. Sorry.
