Ever since Incognito Mode (or Private Browsing) was introduced in our browsers, the way we browse the internet has changed significantly.
Going Incognito means that your browser won’t save the browsing history, cookies, temporary files or other site data.
The earliest reference to Incognito Mode was in May 2005 and as the time passed almost all the browsers introduced Incognito Mode or Private Browsing in their browsers. Gradually, this feature also passed on to mobile web browsers. As a result, almost all of the web browsers available on Android or iOS, today, has Incognito Mode feature in it.
Now UC Browser is one of the most popular web browsers available on Android as well as iOS. It claims to be one of the fastest web browsers on mobile, provides fast download and is packed with a ton of features including Incognito Mode.
Turning ON Incognito Mode in UC Browser is really, really simple. Here’s How To Turn On Incognito Mode in UC Browser.

Since UC Browser is available on both Android and iOS, I’ll break down this post into two parts. The first part will focus on enabling Incognito Mode on Android and the other part will tell how you can turn on Incognito Mode in UC Browser on iPhone.
How To Turn On Incognito Mode In UC Browser on Android
Step 1: Launch UC Browser on your Android smartphone. Once the app is opened, you’ll see 5 buttons at the bottom of the screen. Tap on the 4th button (the tab button) from the left.
Step 2: This will open Tab View. Again at the bottom of the screen, you’ll see three buttons. Tapping on the first button will turn on Incognito Mode. (The other two buttons are for opening a new tab and for going back.)
As soon as you enter Incognito Mode, a pop-up will show up saying that “Incognito Browsing is on”. Also, the background color of the tab view will change to Purple.
To know whether you are browsing on Incognito Mode or not, you can take a look at the fourth button (the tab button). If it’s purple, it means you are on Incognito Mode.
To disable Incognito Browsing, you can repeat the above process. Once it is disabled, you’ll see a pop-up saying ”Incognito Browsing is disabled”. Also, the background color of the tab view will turn back to Dark Grey.
How To Enable Incognito Mode In UC Browser On iPhone
Step 1: Launch the UC Browser app on your iPhone. At the bottom of the screen, tap the tab button (the 4th button from left).
Step 2: Once you are in Tab view, you’ll see three buttons at the bottom of the screen. Tap on the first button which is also called the Incognito Mode button. That’s it.
Now you are in Incognito Mode. To know whether you are actually Incognito or not, just look at the tab button. If the icon of the tab button is changed that means private browsing is on.
